Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an intake manifold in which a flange of a cylinder head is integrally casted with a surge tank.
CONSTITUTION: A flange 2 is integrally casted with a surge tank 1 through a stay 5. Bolt fastening or soldering is not necessitated, so that parts number and processing steps can be reduced for improving assembling performance of an engine. Oscillations of an intake manifold are reduced without using an inter stay, and cracking generation of is prevented at a pipe connection part. Upstream side ends of a plurality of branch pipes 3 are inserted into a pipe installation hole of a surge tank cover 4 which is arranged with a slight clearance in respect to the surge tank 1 while securing a desired connection margin even if the clearance is cancelled. The surge tank cover 4 is in clinding contact with the surge tank 1, so that the branch pipes 3 can only be installed even when the surge tank 1 is integrated with the flange 2.
