Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous solution of interferon excellent in storage stability, containing interferon-α, a nonionic detergent, a buffering agent and benzyl alcohol. SOLUTION: This solution contains (A) interferon-α (preferably interferon-2 a and polyethylene glycolated interferon-#'-2a), (B) a nonionic detergent [e.g. polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate], (C) a buffering agent (preferably ammonium acetate and sodium lactate) to provide a pH of 4. 5 to 5. 5, (D) benzyl alcohol and (E) an isotonizing agent (preferably arginine). Preferably the solution contains 1×10<6> to 36×10<6> of IU, 0.05-0.2 mg/mL of the component B, 10-15 millimol of the component C and 10 mg/mL of the component D.
