PURPOSE: To provide a new compound usuful as intermediate for preparing pyranyl cyanoguanidine derivative having an activity activating potassium channel.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I, II, or III [(a), (b) and (d) are all carbon atoms or one of (a), (b) and (d) is nitrogen atom or -N(O)- and other two are carbon atoms; R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl or the like; R3 and R4 are each H, an arylalkyl or the like; R5 is H, CN or the like; R6 is H, OH or the like; R7 and R8 are each H, an aryl or the like; R9 is H an alkenyl or the like; (n) is 1-3] and its salt, for example (3aS-trans)-2-[4-chlorophenyl) amino]-3a,4,9b-trihydro-4,-diamethyl-2H-[1]benzopyrano[4,3-d]oxazole-8-carbonitril is provided. To obtain the compound of the formula I in which R1 and R2 are not H, a compound of formula IV is reacted with isocyanidodihalide of formula R2-N=C(X)2 (X is halogen) in a solvent (alcohol is preferable) containing tertiary amine.
