Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the internal hole body of the alumina graphitic nozzle which decreases the carbon pickup of molten steel and can prevent the formation and adhesion of alumina in the steel.

CONSTITUTION: The inner hole body of the nozzle is constituted of alumina clinker consisting of 1 to 40wt.% spinel clinker as refractory aggregate and the balance ≥99wt.% Al2O3 content. The refractory compsn. is a compsn. having <1wt.% carbon content and <1wt.% SiO2 content. The grain size constitution is 20 to 70wt.% grain size of ≤0.21mm.
