When the external storage medium is connected to a memory interface 31, a signal processing controller 30 reads out the identification information of each file stored in the external storage medium and displays the read file identification information as characters through an LCD 6 or a lighting tool 10. Consequently the user is enabled to recognize the internal information stored in the external storage medium by simple constitution. Namely the user is enabled to recognize which external storage medium stores which file (an image file, a music file, etc.) without performing complicated image processing or the like by displaying an extension of a file through the LCD 6 or the lighting tool 10.
