To provide an ionic liquid free from a halogen atom.

The ionic liquid (A) is at least one kind of the ionic liquids (A) comprising an anion (B) which is selected from the group consisting of an anion represented by formula (3) and the like, and a cation (C). (In the formula, R9to R12are the same or different, and each a hydrogen atom or a 1-5C hydrocarbon group which may have an amino group, a nitro group, a cyano group, a carboxy group, an ether group or an aldehyde group).
