In the IPM motor 10, a permanent magnet 30 is fixed in a magnet embedding hole 23 by a pair of O rings 26, 26. Therefore, it is possible to solve problems in conventional IPM motors in which a permanent magnet 30 is fixed by adhesive. Since the O rings 26, 26 are respectively fitted in fitting grooves 25, 25, the O rings 26, 26 can be prevented from being moved together with the permanent magnet 30 in the magnet embedding hole 23 when the permanent magnet 30 is inserted into the magnet embedding hole 23. With this electric power steering device 100, it is possible to prevent the harmful effect, which may be caused by the conventional IPM motors, on steering feeling or quietness.
