Title:
IRREGULAR PULSE DETECTOR USING CONVERTING POINT OF DELTA MODULATED ELECTROCARDIOGRAM WAVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2648543
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To discriminate irregular pulse conditions of the heart, by measuring a period existing an isoelectric segment within a prescribed period range with continuing non-inclining signals and positive or negative inclining signals.
CONSTITUTION: A digital signal sequence to express electrocardiogram signals is loaded in a 8-bit register, a microprocessor counts the number of 0 in the 8-bit digital word to classify them into a non-inclination part, a positive- inclination part, and a negative-inclination part. The microprocessor uses a finite-state machine to count the number of periods which an isoelectric segment exists in the electrocardiogram signals based on a series of positive-inclination signals, negative-inclination signals, or non-inclination signals. While a specific transition is generated between states, the increment of a line count value is assigned to the transition, the line count value is accumulated in a range of 2 seconds. By comparing the accumulated line count value with two threshold values, whether the electrocardiogram signal is showing the ventricular fibrillation, the ventricular tachycardia, or the supraventricular tachycardia can be discriminated.
