Abstract:
To provide a continuous distillation method having excellent economic efficiency, guaranteeing safety of high level in the case of isolating α- ethynylcarbinol on an industrial scale.
α-Ethynylcarbinol is isolated from a liquid reaction mixture obtained by adding acetylene to an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound by a continuous distillation comprising introducing a feed stream to the central part of a distillation column, azeotropically distilling away most of water together with a solvent at the top of the column and taking out α- ethynylcarbinol of the objective product at a part below the feeding part to the column.
