Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stable, preservative- and antioxidant-free liquid formulations for injection of phenylephrine and ketorolac.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to stable, preservative- and antioxidant-free liquid formulations for injection of phenylephrine and ketorolac. The invention provides a preservative-free and antioxidant-free sterile liquid pharmaceutical formulation for injection of phenylephrine that is a mydriatic and ketorolac that is an anti-inflammatory agent. The above formulation may be suitably injected into an intraocular irrigation carrier, and used to irrigate ocular tissues during surgery. The above formulation avoids the potential toxicity that may be associated with preservatives and antioxidants but has adequate stability.SELECTED DRAWING: None
