The laser ignition device for igniting fuel in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine is provided with a Q switch solid laser oscillator wherein the output mirror is one of a biconcave lens, a plano-concave lens and a meniscus concave lens, and the surface on the side for taking out the laser beam is a concave surface; and an output optical system for collecting the laser beam output from the Q switch solid laser oscillator in the combustion chamber.
