Title:
LATENT IMAGE FORMING MEANS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3387704
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of the latent image forming means of an image forming device.
SOLUTION: A discharge electrode 23 is arranged on the top surface of an insulating layer 21, on the under surface of which a signal electrode 22 is arranged. The signal electrode 22 is constituted by arranging a large number of independent needle-like electrodes 22a along the direction of the generating line of a dielectric drum so as to bring the electrode into contact with or close to the surface of the dielectric. By rotating the dielectric drum so as to apply alternating voltage to the discharge electrode 23 and applying signal voltage to the predetermined needle-like electrodes 22a in response to image information, an electric latent image is formed on the surface of the dielectric drum. The constitution of this device can be simplified as compared with the electrophotographic system, in which an electrifying device, an exposing device or the like is necessary. Further, since the destaticizing from the surface of the dielectric drum can be executed by applying alternating voltage to the discharge electrode 23, no special destaticizer becomes necessary.
