Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide Li-containing ceramics coated with a metal capable of releasing tritium as the form of a gas by removing oxygen from the tritium produced by irradiation with neutrons with a metallic coating layer.
CONSTITUTION: These Li-containing ceramics in the form of any of a sphere, a cylinder and a block are coated with a metal. The Li-containing ceramics refer to as one or more of Li2O, Li4SiO4, Li2SiO3, LiALO2 and Li2ZrO3 and the coating metal is Be or its compound, preferably the Be.
