Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correctly recognize malfunctioning writing by a device wherein light beams which are jetted simultaneously from a plurality of laser light sources are simultaneously detected, while an abnormality detection means compares an output signal of a beam detection means at that time with a threshold value so as to determine the malfunctioning writing of a latent image to a photosensitive body.
CONSTITUTION: In a light beam scanning device which writes a latent image corresponding to an image signal on a photosensitive body 2 by using a light beam Bm to be jetted from a plurality of laser light sources 1, a light quantity memory means 3 for storing an output light quantity which is set in each laser light source 1 is provided. A threshold calculation means 4 calculates, excepting a laser light source of a minimum light quantity, a sum of output light quantities of other laser light sources 1 and sets a threshold value between the calculated value and the sum of the output light quantities of all the laser light sources 1. An abnormality detection means 6 compares an output signal of a beam detection means 5 which detects the light beam Bm jetted from each laser light source 1 with the threshold value. When the output signal is lower than the threshold value, malfunctioning writing of the latent image is determined.
