A wavelength selecting device which eliminates light rays whose wavelength is shorter than 450 nm from sunlight is provided to a light condensing photovoltaic power generating device 10, so that the solar cell 16 is not irradiated with light rays of shorter wavelengths than 450 nm, and moreover the solar cell 16 is low or 5×1019 to 1×1017 cm-3 in impurity diffusion concentration, so that lattice defects or dislocations hardly occurs in the solar cell when it is irradiated with sunlight, and the solar cell is prevented from deteriorating in characteristics and elongated in service life. The N layer (emitter layer) of the solar cell 16 is formed as thick as 0.6 to 10 μm, so that sunlight where a light component of short wavelengths is removed is lengthened in absorption distance, and a photovoltaic power generating device of this constitution can be prevented well from deteriorating in generation efficiency even if a light component of shorter wavelengths than 450 nm is removed through the filter 18.
