Title:
LIGHT EMISSION ELEMENT CONTROLLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11272229
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce variations in brightness of each of light emission elements in a display which uses such light emission elements as organic EL elements and to reduce time delay when the light emission elements are made to emit light.

A high speed constant current circuit 31 is provided at each data line of a display panel 1. At the high speed constant current circuit 31, when a low-level voltage is output from a serial-to-parallel converter 30, a transistor 310 is turned on and a base current is immediately supplied to a transistor 311 to supply a current to each light emission element to cause the light emission element to emit light. After this light emission, the current flowing in the light emission element is detected by a current detecting resistance 322 as a voltage, and an operational amplifier 312 controls the base current of the transistor 311 according to the voltage and a reference voltage divided by resistances 313, 312, thus controlling the current flowing in the light emission element to a constant current.
