Title:
LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01319976
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent striking to a signal pin of discharge at the time of mounting by electrically connecting a grounding pin electrically bonded with a ground at the time of mounting to a conductor and projecting the grounding pin from the base of a light-emitting diode body and fitting the grounding pin. CONSTITUTION:A grounding pin 22 is set up while a root is fixed to a disk 21 made of copper, connected electrically to the disk 21 made of copper, and fitted in parallel with a signal pin 4. Discharge currents flow through the disk 21 made of copper, the grounding pin 22 and a frame grounding pattern 32, and do not flow through signal pins 4, 5, thus preventing the breakdown of an LSI 12 and a light-emitting section 3. Accordingly, even when discharge is generated between an applying probe 17 and a light-emitting diode 20, discharge currents do not flow through an element and flow through the ground, thus obviating the malfunction of an equipment 30 and even trouble thereof.
