To make the lighting equipment small in size and light in weight by disposing lighting circuits at both ends of the lighting equipment, and thereby make the lighting equipment simple in constitution.
This lighting equipment is provided with an equipment main body to which a fluorescent lamp is mounted, a transformer 2 for lighting a fluorescent lamp, which is disposed at the end part of the equipment main body, and with each locking member 13 which is mounted to one or both the ends in the longer direction of the equipment main body in such a way that it can be adjusted in length from each end part, the locking member 13 which is mounted at least to one end in the longer direction of the aforesaid equipment main body, is disposed over the transformer 2, and a magnetic shielding member 1 is interposed between each locking member 13 and the transformer 2.
