Abstract:
PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of lightweightiness and high rigidity, by forming a car lighting window with organic glass, while installing a hollow part in the inner part. CONSTITUTION:A sun roof 4 made of organic glass is attached to a roof part 2, and each regular tetragonal hollow part 5 is formed in the inner part of this sun roof 4 at the specified intervals. Here, as material for organic glass, polymethyl methacrylate is used, and it is extruded out of dies fitted with plural torpedo pipes, whereby the organic glass is solidly formed together with the hollow part 5. Therefore, this sun roof 4 is able to increase its thickness as compared with such a solid-form one that is formed with the same mass of polymethyl methacrylate, thus rigidity is improvable.
