Abstract:

To efficiently search the next item from the present item of a link list by not direct search but associative search.

This method includes a first item 141 and additional items in link list structure within a computer system. Each additional items includes link reference 151 to 154 to each former item within link lists 141 to 144. Each link reference of the additional items is stored within associative storage. For example link reference to the former item is the index of the former item within associative storage. Each additional item can be accessed by executing the search of contents using link reference to the former item within the next additional item. Namely, when link reference to the former item is a link field including the index of the former item within associative storage, the next item is found by executing associative search within associative storage the index of the item within a link list just before the next additional item.
