PURPOSE: To obtain a non-emulsified type tip overcoat capable of preventing rouge from sticking on e.g. a cup and excellent in the function to improve the color sustainability of rouge, comprising a metallic soap and/or acylated amino acid, a polyhydric alcohol and water.

CONSTITUTION: This lip overcoat is obtained by incorporating water with a total of pref. 0.025-90 (esp. 1-70)wt.%, based on the whole lip overcoat, of a metallic soap of formula (RCOO)2M (R is a 10-24C aliphatic hydrocarbon; M is a metal except Na, K, Rb, Cs and Fr) (e.g. zinc laurate) and/or an acylated amino acid (esp. pref. lauroyllysine) and a polyhydric alcohol (pref. glycerin). Formulation of a water-soluble polymer (e.g. gum arabi, xanthane gum, methyl cellulose) in the above active ingredients improves the usability of this lip overcoat. Being liquid, this lip overcoat is easy to apply, impairing no rouge texture.
