Abstract:
To provide a method for reducing only cytotoxicity in pheophorbide (a) showing cytotoxicity or its derivative compound without affecting the LOX-1 antagonist activity which is a feature of the compound in itself.
It has been found that inclusion of pheophorbide (a) or its derivative compound in lipid to form liposome significantly reduces only cytotoxicity and does not affect the LOX-1 antagonist activity which is possessed by the compound in itself. By applying this technique, it is possible to provide a functional LOX-1 antagonist agent with little side effect.
