Abstract:
PURPOSE:To consolidate functions and to reduce power consumption at the time of radio reception by displaying a channel selection, sound volume, a mode, etc., at the time of radio reception on an image display which is a liquid crystal television, and turning off the back light of the said television when the display is not necessary. CONSTITUTION:In a device compounding a liquid crystal television receiver and a radio receiver, the back light 14 of the television is turned on/off depending on the discrimination signal E representing whether the channel selection, the sound volume, the mode, etc., outputted from the channel selector 12 of the radio receiver is in a display status or not. Thus the consolidation of function is attained by using the image display 13 of the liquid crystal television for the display of information necessary at the time of radio reception, and the power consumption at the same time is reduced.
