Title:
LIQUID DROPLET DISCHARGER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62162554
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To save electric power consumption by driving a piezoelectric rod which oscillates in longitudinal direction with its base end fixed in suspended fashion and its tip arranged outside a diaphragm under the design to allow the oscillation to be transmitted to the diaphragm, through application of a low voltage and enabling ink droplets to be discharged without fail.

CONSTITUTION: If a voltage is applied to a piezoelectric rod 28, it expands in longitudinal direction with its tip pressing a diaphragm 26 forward via a pressure board 30. This causes a pressure chamber 23 to be pressed and the subsequent discharge of ink 1 in the chamber through a nozzle 25. On the contrary, if the applied voltage disappears, the piezoelectric rod is restored to its original size, generating a negative pressure inside the pressure chamber. Consequently, new ink 1 is replenished into an ink discharge outlet 22 through an ink guide channel 24. If a pulse signal is continuously applied to the piezoelectric rod 28 from a pulse voltage generator 32, the ink 1 will be discharged in succession by the oscillation of the diaphragm 26.
