Abstract:

To provide a liquid ejecting device control method which minimizes power consumption at the time of cleaning a liquid ejecting device, and prevents the degradation of a tube pump to an extent possible, and to provide the liquid ejecting device.

An ink jet printer includes a recording head 20 for ejecting ink from a nozzle, a capping means 23 for sealing the recording head 20, and the tube pump for negatively pressurizing the capping means 23 by performing rotational operation, to thereby suck the ink. The ink jet printer is comprised of a control means for changing the rotational speed of the tube pump, and by the control means, the tube pump is rotated at larger one of rotational speed values set beforehand over a predetermined period of time, and then rotated at smaller one of the rotational speed values over a predetermined period of time.
