PURPOSE: To facilitate the positioning and mounting/detachment of a filter, by engaging a filter member with the supply port of a common liquid chamber in such a state that the recessed part for a liquid sump of said filter member is projected toward the common liquid chamber from the supply port and holding the same from above in a liquidtight state by an elastic member.

CONSTITUTION: A filter 12 is directly engaged with the supply port 6 of a common liquid chamber 5. The filter 12 is formed into a stepped dish-shape and the bottom surface thereof is directly exposed to the common liquid chamber 5. An elastic seal member 13 for holding the filter 12 to a liquidtight state covers the flange part 12B of the engaged filter 12 from above and an L-shaped supply pipe 7 is engaged with the socket part 13A of said member 13. At the time of the replacement of the filter 12, since ink containing much dust is received by the recessed part 12A of the filter 12, even when the filter 12 is detached, there is no anxiety such that the ink flows in the common liquid chamber 5. The setting of the filter 12 is extremely easy and the labor at the time of manufacturing can be omitted and a degree of freedom from the aspect of the planning of the shape of the filter is obtained and the compactness of a mount part can be achieved.
