Abstract:
To provide a cathode active material precursor for a lithium secondary battery to be used in production of a cathode active material useful for a lithium secondary battery that shows high initial charge/discharge efficiency under high voltage, and a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery.SOLUTION: A lithium composite metal oxide includes a secondary particle in which primary particles are aggregated. When a cross section image of the secondary particle is obtained and the cross section image is observed, an existence ratio of reference primary particles existing at a center part of the secondary particle is 20-50%, and an existence ratio of reference primary particles existing at a surface part of the secondary particle is 30-100%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
