PURPOSE: To make an equipment thin by providing a down-guide plate to be turned by driving a mode plate, and an up-guide plate to be reversely turned while being linked with the down-guide plate.

CONSTITUTION: In the loading mechanism of a disk-shaped recording medium for loading the disk-shaped recording medium above the turn table by a driving roller, when reproducing a disk-shaped recording medium 2, a mode plate 8 is moved to a play mode position by the driving force of a driving motor 13. Then, a down-guide plate 9 engaged with a cam groove 11 of the mode plate 8 is turned down-ward and an up-guide plate 10 is turned upward. In a playe mode, the plate 8 is retreated, the plate 9 is turned upward and the plate 1 is turned downward. Thus, a stable reproducing state can be secured without dropping the recording medium 2 down and since the drop-down stroke of the plate 9 is made sufficient only for the retreat of the driving roller 6, the height of the equipment can be reduced.
