Abstract:

To provide a loose tube for an optical fiber cable which has the excellent balance of pliability and strength and excellent hydrolysis resistance at and under a high temperature and high humidity.

This loose tube for the optical fiber cable is formed by molding a polyester ether resink compsn. containing 0.01 to 3 pts.wt. thermal stabilizer and 0.01 to 3 pts.wt. lubricant in 100 pts.wt. polyester ether resin prepared by polymerizing a dicarboxylic acid essentially consisting of terephthalic acid and/or its ester derivative and a diol component essentially consisting of tetramethylene glycol and polytetramethylene oxide glycol.
