To provide a machine tool to reliably remove chips by reliably preventing leakage of compressed air in a feed route.
A machine tool comprises a discharge port 7 formed in the reception part 36 of a main spindle 34; a receipt part 8 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the main spindle 34; a first supply passage 2 to intercommunicate the discharge port 7 and the receipt part 8; a feed part 9 formed on the inner peripheral surface of an annular member 33 in a manner to be positioned opposite to the receipt part 8 when the main spindle 34 is indexed in a specified rotation position; and a second feed passage 3 communicated with the feed part 9. An annular groove 5 is formed along a peripheral direction in the inner peripheral surface of the annular member 33 on both sides in an axial direction with the feed part 9 nipped therebetween. A seal body 6 having a tubular elastic body formed in an annular state is inserted in an annular groove 5. Compressed air is fed in the second feed passage 3 and the internal space of the seal body 6. The seal body 6 is expanded and deformed by compressed air and adhered on the bottom and the side of the annular groove 5 and the outer peripheral surface of the main spindle 34 and a gap between the main spindle 34 and the annular member 33 is sealed.
