Title:
MAGNETIC DETECTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3029783
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic detecting apparatus which has a magnetoresistance element comprising current paths with an equal magnetic characteristic and an equal resistance value and which can be made compact is size, by constituting the magnetoresistance element of a plurality of magnetoresistance stripes, providing the element with series-connected current paths, and arranging the stripes in parallel via a specific distance.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetoresistance stripes R1-1-R1-5 of a current path MR1 are arranged in parallel via a constant distance of λ/4 to magnetoresistance stripes R2-1-R2-5 of a current path MR2, thereby to form a plurality of sets of magnetoresistance stripes. Centers of the sets of magnetoresistance stripes are separated 3λ/4. Accordingly, a projecting part of the path MR1 is meshed with a recessed part of the path MR2, so that the paths MR1 and MR2 become adjacent to each other and separated the same distance at all times. A resolution difference or various surface characteristics act equally to the paths MR1 and MR2. No irregularity is brought about at both paths, and the apparatus is made compact.
