PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head chip with good magnetic property and high reliability without causing cracks in the processing after joining by using Fe2O3 glass instead of PbO glass for joining the cores.

CONSTITUTION: The glass used to join the magnetic head chip 10 is Fe2O3 glass 4 having good fluidity against ferromagnetic metal material 3 and high strength. By this method, the joining is sufficiently performed and cracks generating in the following processes are prevented. Since Fe2O3 glass has higher water resistance than PbO glass, it prevents pitting due to dissolution of glass in water contained in air. Therefore, the glass does not affect magnetic property nor gives damage on a recording medium.
