PURPOSE: To increase abrasion resistance by arranging a glass with a high melting point and the glass with a low melting point making a pair with a magnetic gap sandwitched, at the sliding plane side of a recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: A groove is formed on a ferrite substrate, and a glass 2 with the high melting point is packed. Following that, a thin film forming groove is formed, and an amorphous 11 is formed in the groove. Afterwards, a groove 5 is processed between the thin films in the amorphous 11, thereby a core half body block 4 is formed. At at the block 4 on one side, a winding groove 6 and a glass groove 7 are formed, thereby a core half body block 8 is obtained. Next, the blocks 4 and 8 are overlapped putting the grooves 6 and 7 in the inside. At such a time, by inserting the glass with the low melting point into the groove 7, and melting the glass with low melting point by heating, the blocks 4 and 8 are formed integrally in one body, and the glass 2 and a glass 10 with the low melting point are put in a counter state. Next, by slicing the block at a position shown in code A, and applying a polishing process, a head piece can be obtained. The abrasion resistance of a magnetic head obtained as stated above is increased by the glass 2.
