Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain magnetic substance and its manufacturing method which substance is essentially composed of quasi-crystal and can be applied to various kinds of usage like a magnetic recording head.
CONSTITUTION: The title magnetic substance contains 10-50at% of elements containing Al and at least transition elements (e.g. 5-25 atomic % of one kind or two kinds of Cu and Pd and 5-35 atomic % of Mn) which can form quasi- crystal with Al, and the maximum 25 atomic % of element (e.g. B) whose atom radius is smaller than that of the above elements, and the intensity of magnetization of quasi-crystal phase is essentially controlled. In the title manufacturing method, composition material is quenched and solidified.
