Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in the sensitivity of a magnetoresistance effect element and the decrease in the magnetic permeability of a flux guide and to improve the reproducing output by forming a first magnetic film and a second magnetic film having magnetization in the opposite directions to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of terminals 28a, 28b are connected to a magnetoresistance effect element 22 and a sensing area 22a of the magnetoresistance effect element is formed between them. The magnetic flux from a recording medium 34 is introduced by a front flux guide 24 to the magnetoresistance effect element 22. The first magnetic film (not shown in the figure) is deposited on both sides of the magnetoresistance effect element 22 except for the center part and has the magnetization direction parallel to the width direction of a recording track 35. The second magnetic film (not shown in the figure) is deposited on both sides of the front flux guide 24 except for the center part and has the magnetization direction opposite to the magnetization direction of the first magnetic film. The front flux guide 24 is formed into a rectangular shape over the sensing area 22a of the magnetoresistance effect element 22 and extended to the width direction of the recording tracks 35 of a recording medium 34.
