Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the stability of an aq. pigment dispersion by compounding a specific reactive functional group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer, a functionalized copolymer, a polyalkylene glycol and a functional group- containing compd.
CONSTITUTION: (A) An ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a reactive functional group selected from an isocyanate functional group, an anhydride functional group and an epoxy functional group, (B) a functionalized copolymer having no reactive functional group of the component A and being the reaction main component of the ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (C) a polyalkylene glycol (co)polymer and (D) a functional group-containing compd. mutually acting along with a pigment selected from a hydrazine substituted by an aliphatic or a (substd.) aromatic group substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or hydroxy and an imine represented by the formula (wherein R1 is OH or HNR'; R' is H, an alkyl or an aryl; and R2-R3 are each an aliphatic or aromatic substituent) are compounded.
