Title:
MANUFACTURE OF AL ALLOY FOR SELF-COLOR ANODIZING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5956541
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a uniform grayish-black oxide film on an Al-Fe alloy by anodic oxidation with high reproducibility without adding Mn, Ni or other metal by specifying conditions during the casting, soaking and final annealing of the alloy.

CONSTITUTION: A molten Al alloy consisting of 0.5W2.0% Fe and the balance Al is cast at 2.0W10°C/sec cooling rate. The resulting ingot is soaked at 400W 450°C, hot worked, cold worked, and subjected to finish annealing by heating to 400W540°C at ≥100°C/min heating rate, holding at the temp. for ≤5min and cooling at ≥100°C/min cooling rate.
