Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate pointed parts and to prevent a change in a resistance value due to a loss by heat-treating a thermistor base chip at temperatures higher than a working-point temperature of a glass film for rounding the ridge or the corner of the thermistor base chip.
CONSTITUTION: A thermistor resistor green sheet is cut to the specified size and is sintered to obtain a thermistor base chip 11. The thermistor base chip 11 is wet barrel polished and then a thermistor base chip 12 which has rounded corners and rounded ridges is obtained. On the surface of the thermistor base chip 12, a glass film 13 and an electrode material glass baked film 14 are formed. At that time, heat treatment is conducted at temperatures higher than a working-point temperature of the glass film 13. Then, a metal plated layer 15 is formed by a usual method and then a chip-type thermistor is obtained. By this method, a productivity, an accuracy and a reliability are increased.
