Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently divide a strip shaped element by sticking sealing material on lug parts on both ends at the same time of sealing the inserting port of each cell and integrally forming both substrates. CONSTITUTION:Plural strip shaped liquid crystal display elements 1 are arranged in a line, and also the elements are formed so as to be provided with the lug parts 2 on both sides of them. At the time of sealing the inserting port of each element 1 with the sealing material 4, the lug parts 2 are simultaneously stuck with the sealing material 4 so as to integrally form both substrates A1 and A2. The material capable of thermohardening and UV curing, etc., which does not contaminate liquid crystal material is used as the sealing material 4. Each element is divided by a pushing and cutting method, and the element provided with the lug part 2 is also separated only by performing the action of giving an impact to the substrate A1 (A2) on the opposite side. Thus, the element can be efficiently divided by the pushing and cutting method, and also the good accuracy in positioning by an automatic machine can be obtained at the time of dividing the cell in accordance with the stabilization of the lug parts.
