Title:
MANUFACTURE OF MAGNETIC PARTICLE FOR FLAW DETECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3869511
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture the magnetic particle for magnetic particle testing which is approximately constant in shape and approximately uniform in grain size by performing the emulsion polymerization under the coexistence of the surfactant without using water insoluble solvent, and pulverizing the obtained polymerized mixture.
SOLUTION: Stainless steel powder of 83 pts., by weight, of 10μm in grain size, butylacrylate of 10 pts., benzoil peroxide 0.01 pts., rumogen yellow of 5 pts., sudan red BBA of 2 pts., and polyoxysolbitan alkylester ether of 2 pts. are sufficiently mixed to prepare the mixture. The mixture of 50 pts. is mixed with water of 50 pts. and stirred for 5 minutes and emulsion diffused in water. The emulsified mixture is heated while stirred, and butylacrylate in the mixture is polymerized for 4 hours at 85°C. After cooling, the mixture is filtered at 30°C, and washed in water of 50 pts. After the mixture is dried for 2 hours at 100°C, it is lightly pulverized in a mortar to obtain the fluorescent magnetic particle of 45 pts. of 13μm in grain size.
