To provide a method for manufacturing a metal siding material with a brick pattern on which parts equivalent to a crosswise joint and a lengthwise joint, recessed significantly, are formed between bold brick patterns.
This metal siding material has an embossed brick pattern on which a part equivalent to a crosswise joint and a part equivalent to a lengthwise joint with a depth of 1.0-1.3 mm respectively, are formed around the brick pattern part, using a thin metal plate constituting a surface material 1. When manufacturing this metal siding material, first the thin metal plate is supplied to a preliminary embossing molder 8 made up of one set of two embossing rolls 8a, 8b which are positioned opposite to each other and rotate at the same speed in a mutually reverse direction. Then the thin metal plate is preliminarily embossed to the depth 0.2-0.6 times the depth of the part equivalent to the crosswise joint and the part equivalent to the lengthwise joint to be formed around the brick pattern part of the metal siding material to be manufactured. Next, the thin metal plate is supplied to an embossing molder 9 made up of one set of two embossing rolls 9a, 9b which are positioned opposite to each other and rotate at the same speed in a mutually reverse direction to fabricate the part equivalent to the crosswise joint and the part equivalent to the lengthwise joint to the desired depth.
