To provide a manufacturing method of a surface active agent- containing composition in high efficiency by preventing gelation of mixed components in a process of producing a surface active agent-containing composition containing a component which gels when the component contacts the surface active agent (hereinafter referred to as a gel component), particularly a surface active agent-containing composition containing a gel component which gels when the surface active agent contacts water.

When a surface active agent-containing composition is produced by mixing the surface active agent and a gel component which gels by being mixed with the surface active component, at least one kind of hydrotropes which does not make the surface active agent gel by being mixed therewith and thereafter the gel component is added to and mixed with the mixture. According to the present invention, gelation of the gel component and the surface active agent during production process is prevented and the surface active agent-containing composition having a targetted composition is easily produced in a short time.
