To produce a thin piece having one side of an appropriate size being prescribed size or less by cutting a sheet material made of metal, plastics, or its complex by a triangular, corrugated blade.
First cutting forms a cutting line 1. After that, when a blade is shifted perpendicular to the feed direction of a sheet in the direction for traversing the sheet by 1/2 pitch of the corrugation, a cutting line 2 is obtained and consequently a square 3 surrounded with the cutting lines 1, 2 is obtained. The obtained thin piece is a square having a side 1mm or less. However, to coincide apices of respective cutting lines 1, 2 together is extremely difficult and to provide such a thin piece is difficult, because of errors in moving the blade and in feeding the sheet. That is to say, when the feed of the sheet is large, the cutting lines 1, 2 are separated from each other and, when the movement of the blade is shifted, the cutting lines are separated from each other so that this thin piece is not provided.
