Abstract:
PURPOSE: To achieve uniform sticking of a wear resistant layer and a base board and to prevent crack and detachment of the wear resistant layer from generating in use by arranging the base board of plain steel in a mold, using a shower gate as the form of a weir, pouring the molten metal of a wear resistant cast iron to tinker the base board, melt-sticking the base board and complexing the both.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal of the wear resistant cast iron or cast steel is dropped in the shower gate 13 through a sprue 11 and a runner 12 and poured into a gap 16 on the base board 14. In this result, by suitably sellecting the pouring temp. and pouring speed of the molten metal and the shape and arrangement of the shower gate 13, the wear resistant layer and the base board 14 can completely be melt-stuck. In this case, the shape of the shower gate 13 is made to be 5-30mm diameter, and by arranging the gate at intervals of one per 100-400mm2, the wear resistant cast iron or cast steel is bitten into the base board 14, and as both are completely melt-stuck, the crack ad the detachment are less in comparison with a tinkered material, and the wear resistant material having remarkably long service life can be manufactured.
