Abstract:

To increase the dimensional accuracies of the outer peripheral surface of a positioning tube part and a rotating side flange after turning a bearing unit for a wheel.

After a stationary ring 6, a hub 8, and rolling elements 21 are combined with each other, the stationary ring 6 is supported by a support member and a drive member is engaged with a part of the hub 8. In this state, the outer ring 6 is rotated by a chuck 37 and the hub 8a is rotated by a spindle 41 at rotating speeds different from each other. In this state, a cutter 43a is pressed against the outer peripheral surface 17 of the positioning tube part 16 to turn the outer peripheral surface 17.
