To provide a manufacturing method of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery wherein a space to relieve stress generated by expansion caused by repeated charge and discharge can be easily formed in a rolled body.
This manufacturing method includes a process to superpose a positive electrode C, a first separator S1, a negative electrode A, and a second separator S2 each having long and belt-like shapes in this order and integrally roll them. In advance of superimposing them, or while superimposing them, spacer materials P1, P2 are discontinuously disposed between either one of the first and second separators S1, S2 and the negative electrode A while spreading over the longitudinal direction of these members. The spacer materials P1, P2 are removed from a rolled body obtained by the rolling process.
