Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing α-phenylethyl alcohol by hydrogenation of acetophenone without deteriorating a reaction rate and selectivity by making the most of catalyst activities of a copper catalyst.
The method for manufacturing α-phenylethyl alcohol comprises hydrogenating acetophenone using the copper catalyst, where a plurality of reactors are operated in a parallel combination to effectively utilize catalyst activities of each copper catalyst in each reactor.
