Title:
MARKING METHOD FOR PLASTIC LENS OF SPECTACLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3887869
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the problem that a mark is stripped through ball grinding work, or the like, by making the surface of a spectacle plastic lens subjected to water/oil repellent treatment using a pad printing ink containing a pigment, a modified epoxy resin, and the like, added with a fluorine based surfactant.
SOLUTION: A progressive focal point plastic lens having an antireflection film subjected to water/oil repellent treatment and a rest contact angle of about 100° with respect to the water is marked with a horizontal line, a fitting point and a neighborhood part by stencil printing. A pad printing ink containing a pigment, a modified epoxy resin and a solvent added with a fluorine based surfactant is employed for marking. According to the method, the mark is prevented from being stripped even it the plastic lens is subjected to ball grinding. Furthermore, machining miss can be prevented because the performance on the surface of the lens is invariant after the mark is erased.
