Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix type display device capable of eliminating the distortion induced to a row voltage waveform due to the change of a column voltage waveform with a small circuit scale and applicable even to a plural rows simultaneous selection drive method.
SOLUTION: A waveform change of a column voltage is detected by a detection electrode 13 provided on a row electrode substrate through liquid crystal capacity, and a compensation voltage is applied to a compensation electrode 14 provided on the row electrode substrate or a column electrode substrate according to the detected waveform variable amount of the column voltage. The distortion induced to the row voltage waveform due to the waveform change of the column voltage is canceled by the distortion induced to the row voltage waveform with the waveform of the compensation voltage.
