Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and selectively measure a content of aldehyde with high sensitiveness by using hydrazine or its derivative as a post-label reaction reagent for bringing it and aldehydes in a sample into reaction mutually.
SOLUTION: When hydrazine or its derivative used as a post-label reaction reagent and aldehydes, for example, formaldehyde in a sample are brought into reaction mutually, triazo-phthalazine(Tri-P) as a fluorescent substance is generated. A separation column 6 and a heating reaction tube 9 arranged between a joint part with a reagent feeder 2 and a detector 11 are provided so as to serve as measurement devices. The heating reaction tube 9 is housed in a constant temperature tank 8, and reaction between aldehydes and hydrazine or its derivative serving as a reagent is carried out at a high temperature about 120°C. An object to be measured after the reaction is cooled down by a cooling tube 10 and fed to the detector 11, and then, a fluorescent substance such as Tri-P resulting from the reaction is detected. The detected result is processed in a data processor 12 for quantitatively measuring aldehydes.
